The teachers who shaped us

By Apollo Wambua · Class of 1979–1982

Mr. Sempa also taught Culture. Culture involved learning the Luganda alphabet and the pronunciation of Kiganda syllables: A, E, I, O, U… Bba, Bbe, Bbi, Bbo, Bbu, and so on. It also covered traditional Kiganda drum beats. It was basically an introduction to the Kiganda way of life and culture.

Mrs. Zziwa was deeply engrossed in music. Mr. Senyange taught English and History, while Mr. Kityo taught Geography.

Science and Mathematics were later taught in 1980–81 by Mr. Mugumya Bbomu. He later worked in the Accounts and Finance Department of the Luwero District Administration.

Mr. Kalanda also taught Science and introduced us, the P7 class of 1982, to sexual reproduction.
