The founding, 1974–1975

By Apollo Wambua · Class of 1979–1982

In 1974, the idea of starting Kampala Parents' School was first conceived. However, before the vision could fully materialize, Mrs. Gladys Wambuzi went into exile, and Mr. Kasole was briefly detained by security agents. After his release, their plans moved forward, and Kampala Parents' School officially opened on January 17, 1975, near Fairway Hotel.

The pioneering teaching staff included Mr. Edward Bwereere Lwanga Kasole, Mr. Senyange RIP, Mr. Ssempa, Mrs. Zziwa, Mrs. Mujunga, and Mr. Kityo RIP, who taught Geography and History. Most of them were formerly teachers at Mengo Primary School.
